Haldi Ceremony in Italy, on Lake Como

August in Cernobbio. A garden on the lake, mid-morning, before the heat takes the day. Turmeric on skin. One event inside a multi-day Indian wedding programme.

Guests flew in from America, the UK and India. Everyone stayed between Cernobbio and Como and moved between venues by luxury transfer, assisted by our team members at each point along the way.

The ceremony was fully outdoors, in the middle of an Italian August. That shapes everything: the start time, the length of each ritual, shade and refreshements ready before anyone arrived, as well as an A/C area indoors with seating, bar and buffet.

The work of an Italian wedding planner for Indian destination weddings is to stay invisible: timing, movement and guest experience running behind the scenes, so the celebration is all anyone remembers.

A haldi ceremony in Italy, held as it would be held at home. The tradition doesn’t adapt. The setting does.
