Heaven has gates. Apparently they open onto Lake Como. Iron gates. Glistening water. Lush gardens trailing down to the lake. Ceremony light turning everything soft and golden. Some backdrops do half the work. We take care of everything else. Lake Como does things to a wedding day.

I don’t put my name to a place I haven’t walked. Personally. Usually in heels I regret. Because a villa can photograph like a Slim Aarons print and run like a group chat nobody answers. A masseria can promise “uninterrupted sea views” and deliver an uninterrupted view of the car park. The brochure is always blue sky and bougainvillea, the truth is whether there’s shade at 4pm and a kitchen that can actually feed 120. I know because I go. I poke around the back. I ask the annoying questions. Sometimes I find the car park. So this October I’m in Puglia for B-TREAT. Six days with the venues, the people behind them, and the corner of Italy more of you are asking me about every season. First-hand, before it’s a recommendation. @wema.global
